Hello- Need help on how and where to run the wires.
Purchased a electronic tach from 76 vette to put into my 74 vette
with electronic ignition. tach is not here yet, but I notice from the picture there is a plug on the back that 3-wires are suppose to plug into. Anyone know of a wiring diagram I can use to to wire the tach? also someone told me I need a tach filter on the back too, do I?
Thanks-
you have a ground wire(black) , the positive(pink) i hooked into the loom near the tach then i ran a new tach wire(brown) to the HEI tach connector on the distributor.
once you get it wire and running Email me if you need a tach fitler.i can probably get you one made at my work!
Thanks, I appreciate it. Probably will not have it running again for a few months. Winner time up here in montana, Car sits in storage.
How do you know if you need a filter or not? thanks-
I've seen a few threads recently where the tach was working properly without the filter, even though specs called for one. I have one on my '75 but the tach is presently not working. I'm not sure if it needs a new circuit board or the filter, or the tach itself. Anyone know a good trouble-shooting procedure for this problem?
