Just wanted to pass along an unrefined idea which is not illustrated very well by my poor picture.
After installing a new gas tank decided to clean up the entire area, so ended up painting almost everything back there.
I picked-up some chrome bolt caps at a local motorcycle shop and stuck them on as well. I only bought four, but plan to go back and get six to eight more. It looks a lot better in person than in the picture.
Regrets if I confused anyone with my poor picture. Probably should not have posted it.
So, here is the tip I wanted to send: Motorcycle shops sell chrome bolt caps/covers that can dress-up stuff. They have all different sizes. This is new info for me, but probably not for most of you.
Ohsixx, you're one of the few guys that will probably remember this. Do you remember back in the late 50s/early 60s they used to sell lugnut covers that looked like little spinners. I think Hollywood accessories made them. We used to run with just steel wheels painted the color of the car and the spinners on the lugnuts. I think most of our cars were worth less than one of the 20" bling wheels today.
I see them in your picture, but I know what they look like as I have them on my Harley. Question how are the held on? I use silicone to hold them on my bike.
turn up the gamma, that will make them somewhat visible (for those that don't have the feature on their vid card, powerstrip is a nice program to tweek stuff)

They should come with plastic inserts that hold the cap on to the bolt head. You gotta get it just right or they will not stay on for long.

Yes they come with a plastic grommet but it is nearly imposable to get them on with it, plus if you do remove the cap there is no way to put it back using the plastic part. So I just use clear silicone in the first place. They look good and when you have to remove them they just pry off and I then remove the old silicone and add more.
I did see that most of these chrome cape at plastic now.
