Default 383 is finally here. [PICS]

I will be busy for the next month or so...better get the heater going and beers flowin..
Engine specs: 383 Stroker
Eagle Cast Crank
6" forged Eagle Rods
KB Pistons
AFR 195s with 68cc combustion chambers
This engine made 459hp at 5700rpm with a xe274, 1.5 roller rockers, and a RPM intake...I finally decided to go with a xe284, 1.6 roller rockers, and a Victor Jr. intake. HP numbers should go up slightly with peak HP coming in around 6300-6500rpm

Nice! Golen was one of the builders I initially considered. How long did it take to get it?

Beautiful!

It's a shame to have to eventually cover up those rockers. Maybe you can get valve covers with plexiglass!

Default I c something wrong. Better send it to me while in crate.

Nice engine. That top end looks to good to wear valve covers.
Hope to hear how it drives and how fast it goes.
Good luck. cardo0

Took about 4 weeks to get and that was waiting on the AFR heads. Golen had the bottom end assembled and internally balanced in the first week.

their engines are pricey...but I hear nothing but good things from them with quality and service. I actually had the motor built for the specs i wanted..in which i wanted more HP on top, and wanted shift points to be around 6200-6300rpm. with the one on one personal attention from the owner of GH, I didn't mind to pay the extra for that type of service. Its good to have a relationship like that with your engine builder..almost like a psychiatrist or counsler or such..

I'm happy with my builder too... except the wait

Hopefully - I'll get my new engine soon...
