Default Power Antenna Conversion

I would Like to put a power antenna in my 77.
Any suggestions?

Yep, buy the cheapest one you can find and put a switch in the line---some times you might not want the thing raising just because you're rockin' out. And you probably shouldn't route the coax and power together in a tight bundle---can create some funky static sometimes.

I did this a while back and just bought it from Ecklers for my 71.
It was very easy and straightforward. Just remove the old one and install the new one.
If your muffler runs under it you will have to drop it to get to it.
I was able to just disconnect the hanger and that gave me enough room.
Thermo is right about the power. I reran the coax on the opposite side of the car the very next weekend.
I had previously cut the bezel and have an aftermarket head unit that controls the antenna.
The idea about having a separate switch is a real good idea.
When I have the Sirus Satellite stereo running I don't need the other one up.

I have some pics somewhere of the install if you would like to see them.
