Need a half shaft . . .
Hi folks
Anybody here who can donate a half shaft for a 76? Or somebody who will sell one for a good price.
I noticed that one of mine has a dent in it and it's not possible to balance it.
So I need a new one. BTW I live in Austria/Europe so getting replacement is not easy.
Perhaps somebody knows a good junkyard for parts like this?

Why not get it from another European country? There's a corvette parts shop here that has 1/2 shafts lying around (used), is there nothing like that in Austria? the guy here also buys wrecks and dismantles them so he's well stocked in the used parts department. His name is Mark van Diepenbeek, his shop is called Corvette Parts Service Centre UDEN, 00310413 265196
There's a couple in germany also, I would think Petty would have the 1/2 shaft you need.

I know pettys shop, but they are usually as expensive as buying the parts directly in the USA plus shipping.

have you contacted a driveline shop locally for them to make you one??? it may be cheaper then shipping and repairing the one that gets mailed to you...

Markus - I see that your on now - Well 8:00 a.m. your time.
Your question about balancing. how big is this dent? You have to remember that it isn't spining that fast. What maybe 900 revolutions per mile depending on your tire diameter
