I am interested in a 78 L48 4 speed with 39,000 miles at Coffees Corvettes, in Old Forge Pa. I live in Southwest Virginia and it is a 9 hour drive so I like to get someone that knows vettes to look at it for me before I make the trip. I would be willing to pay you for your time.
I've been to Coffee's several times and looked at probably a dozen Vettes. Nice clean cars but very expensive for the mileage on most. Sorry I can't help you further but it's a very busy time of year.
Thanks guys for the response. I have found a 1978 in my home town for 12,000 that has had a frame off restoration and been in storage since the resto was complete in 1989. The car looks as perfect as one can be. I couldn't drive it because it was in a storage facility that had about 20 other collectable cars in it. The 78 was about the 4th row back. The owner was closing for Christmas and will not re-open until Monday but he told me he would get it out of storage and have it ready for me to dirve by 10:00 on Monday. If this works out I may not be going to Pa. after all. Thanks again for your response.

I'm in PA, but I'm probably 2-3 hours from that place. Heck, I don't know if anyone lives near there, that's really God's country out there.
God’s country??? Old Forge is right outside Scranton and Wilkes Barre, both major metropolitan areas.
I’m from Scranton. I have been to Coffee’s but I have never bough a car there. I know people who have and most feel the same. Jerry does have a lot of exotic cars on-hand but like problemenko said, they are kind of expensive. Also from both my experience and others, Jerry Coffee himself seems to have a bad attitude.
Basically, If you found the car your looking for and its in your price range (and you can ignore his attitude if your given one) I don’t see a reason not to get it.
Thanks Corvette69w427.
I have spoke with Chris several times over the past couple of weeks and so far he has been very good to deal with. What I am finding is a lot of 78 and 79 vettes for sale that are in pretty good shape for a lot less money than he is asking for the 78.....but he is in business to make money and I can't fault him for that. Thanks again for yor comments.
