I have a 1971 and the dach lights are not working, I looked at the fuses and the fuse was bad so of course I changed it and it blow it again. I'm guessing it is grounding somewere but were. Any info would help. It sucks to drive with a flashlight at night to see the gauges.

Hmm I might look at the headlight switch first....
I feel your pain I had a short on my "trn sig " fuse I had to pull most of my dash , steering column , and finally found my problem over on the pass side , the flasher relay was grounding out on a metal bracket. The only suggestion I can give you..........if you can make the fuse blow under your control , ie. when turn the ignition , or the dash lights , buy a box of fuses and cover the fuse box up with a dark cloth , and try and spot the location of the ground "spark" in a dark enviroment..... I tried this , but I didn't cover the fuse box and I thought the flash was coming from the fuse box well after I pinched my tach wires and broke a plastic piece in my column , I figure I cost myself 2 weeks worth of time.
So the headlight switch could cause the dash lights to blow a fuse? It happens to me everytime I turn on the parking lights...my console lights go off because of a blown fuse....
How is this problem solved? Replace the headlight switch or should something be grounded that isn't?
