Default Dash Lamp Sockets '70, Alternatives

I have a couple of dash lamp sockets that are damaged in my 70. I've looked everywhere I can think of. No luck...It looks like I'll have to buy the entire harness. Does anyone know where I can find dash lamp sockets that ground to the speedo & tach that will work? If not, does anyone have an old dash harness they would like to sell? I can use the sockets.
Thanks,
Joe

I think I might have saved some from my 71' harness when I replaced it. Is 71' the same as 70' if so, I'll go look through my junk box and if I find some you can have them?

I had the same problem with my 69, I bought some used ones and they where just as brittle as mine so I went to autozone and you can buy replacement plastic (so a lot stronger) bulb sockets with an 8" connector for $2 each. I replaced all of mine in the end....I was tired of the factory ones coming apart when I tried to pull them out.

I THINK I may have some ends you can splice on and solder/tape up the connections...MY recommendations are to just redo the entire thing with a plug to disconnect and reconnect the entire speedo/tach dash panel and save unpluggig every damn bulb in that fiasco while straining to save some part of your anatomy from pain....bag it, some things are just worth changing....beleive me...I had my '72 here for ten years, and finally gave up on the thought I would NEVER pull that damn dash again....

Thanks, I really need to fix this problem while I have the dash out. I'll certainly be glad to pay for them. I'll need as many as you can spare. I'm pretty sure the lamps are the same for "68 thru '72.

I've looked at 'Lectric Supply. Saw everything else but no sockets, unless they were attached to a new harness. I'll call them today. Thanks,
Joe

I think I still have a couple in the garage........I will get you the part number. Its basically a hard plastic bulb socket with 4 metal spring loaded prongs on the end. They dont look anything like the factory ones...but they do work.

I've got the same problem with two sockets in my 71.
If the autozone ones work, that would be great.

I think the best fix is to go to a salvage yard, and use the full metal instrument sockets found on early 60's Chevrolets. They NEVER break and fit solidly into the holes. Whenever I see them in a salvage yard I grab them!!

Default Is this what you're looking for?

Corvette Central Corvette Central lists 'Instrument Panel Bulb Socket' catalog part number is 661073 Here is a pic from their website:

I used a couple in my 68. Hope this helps.
