Default Wide Rear '69 wheels

What is the widest rear tires that can be mounted on a 1969, without off-set T-Arms or adapters? Also, is installing off-set T-arms a project that should be done by a professional?

I do not have offset T arms on my 69 and am running 255-60-15's... My opinion is I wouldn't go any wider unless you made some mods.... But I'm sure some will disagree.

The first thing the tire will hit is the emergency brake cable bracket on the side of the trailing arm. Relocate this and you can run a little wider tire. Then you start running into issues with the trailing arm, once you have an offset trailing arm the spring begins to hit. Get some larger wheels that allow the spring to ride inside of them or get a narrower spring. Then the frame gets in the way. Cut the frame out and notch it, slap some coilovers on, make a double wishbone suspension and run 355s or something.

Many people have changed their trailing arms without issue. You can always send yours off to Van Steel and get one with an offset arm back. Not a bad idea if you can't setup the rear wheel bearings yourself.
