Default Heads/cam and intake suggestions needed...

Okay, so I've got a 72 L48 with a couple minor mods done to it...set of long tubes and an Edelbrock Torker I that I'll be replacing fairly soon, plus a couple other small things...I just ordered a Street Avenger 670 to replace the Rochester. After a couple weeks I will also be ordering a pair of Dynomax mufflers (no cats, btw). Just as the title says, I need some recommendations for heads, cam, and intake. I was previously looking at the Edelbrock Peformer package, but it seems that they're not going to give me the power I'm looking for...I'm basically trying to get as much out of the L48 as possible without having to do any low-end work. My goal is mid-low 13's. The car needs to remain fully streetable (it's my daily driver)...cash isn't too much of a problem because I'm prepared to save up my money for a bit, but I don't want to have to wait tooo long...recommendations anyone?

I'm sure I'll be corrected but I'm thinking to get into the mid-to-low 13's you're going to need a shot of NOS for your 350. Just changing the intake, cam, and heads ain't going to get you there. I'm running an XE262 cam, Elderbrock EPS intake, Dart 180 heads, and the Street Avenger with 10:1CR. I'm making about 350HP and there's no way I think I can get 13's.

What I'm going to do as a winter project some time, is to drop my CR to about 8.5:1 and put a nice big fat Wipple on top.

Set of ARF 195's or Sportsman II 64cc heads and a steel shim head gasket to get compression up and XE268 or 270H and RPM intake and you are in the low 14's possibly high 13's

Trick Flow makes a Top End kit with everything but the intake that may fit the bill for you. They have a few different configurations, check it out at Summit.

Okay, so maybe low 13's is a bit unrealistic...but from what I've read with a whole top-end redo I should be able to hit mid-high 13's. Contrail, thanks a ton for that suggestion, these dyno-matched kits have a lot of appeal to 'em...is anyone on the boards running one of these Trick Flow kits on their L48?

Marshrat, if you're making 350hp in a 3500lb car and not even breaking into the 13's, you've got some major traction issues to work out
