Replacing door lock cylinder...
On '73 C3:
Any special tips, tools, techniques from removing the door skin to what I might find in there?
Just thought I'd get a "you might wanna think about" opinion before I start removing screws.
Thanks.

Removing the door skin? Why are you doing that to replace the lock? Just remove the inner door panel. You can reach the keeper and slide it off. Then just put the new lock in and slide the keeper back into place.

Wel first when you say door skin I hope you're referring to the interior door panel and not the actual door skin.I'm guessing that's the case.
remove the door panel and you'll see th eupper quarter of the door frame has an opening. Use a flash light and you'll see there is a U clip that holds the door lock cylinder in place. It will be clear once you look over the area what needs to be removed. One thing you can do if you want to do some PM is to remove the latch assembly and clean it with brake cleaner and lube it with white grease. There is a threaded rod coming down to the latch from the outside handle that adjusts the throw and thus the opening. Take your time and you'll be ok.
