Naturally aspirated? Carb, fuel injection? Size limit? there are so many variables and you are going to get 100 different answers. Personally, I'd buy a World Products crate motor if you have the money to spend.

Is this another fantasy post??? Do you have the kind of money that you would be required for a build up like this or are you just dreaming???

If you really have the money and are willing to spend it then posts like this are worth it but if just dreaming you are wasting everyones time.

Since I already had this done I will post it to give you some idea how much it costs to build a reliable, high revving big inch small block. This motor will make over 600HP and still be easy to drive on the street at any RPM range. These are the parts on my motor, and the only things changed are the crank from 3.75 in stroke to 4 in stroke to make it a 434ci. and the Victor Jr. heads would get ported so add $1000, I have looked but I can't find a better 23 deg head.

This is what it costs to do it right, you can use your imagination how what they put into the ebay crates.

This is also assuming you are doing all the work yourself, if someone else is clearancing block, assmebling motor, setting up the heads etc. then add another $500 or so.

Part Man. Part # Retail US (Jegs)

Vic. Jr. Heads----Edel. $1358
Roller Rockers CC Hi Tech $402
Head Studs ARP 070-134-4001 $113
Pistons SpeedPro PowerForged $400
Crank Scat 4340 $666
Rods Eagle H Beam $433
SFI Balancer PowerBond PB1050-SS $299
Flywheel Pioneer 400 $299
Roller Lifters CC 818-16 $320
Roller Cam solid CC XR280R $239
Oil Pan Moroso $125
Oil Pump Z28 $30
Oil Pump Pickup Moroso $30
Piston Rings Sealed Power Plasma $120
Timing Set Cloyes $50
Victor Jr. Intake Edelbrock $200
Pully Set March $215
Pushrods CC HiTech $150
Springs double CC 929 $132
Valve Covers Alum. Fabricate $450
400 Block GM $250
Machining Boring,decking etc $1000
Main Studs ARP $75
Main Bearing Clevite 77 $40
Rod Bearing Clevite 77 $30
Rear Main Seal Felpro $25
Timing Cover Cloyes $95
Balancer Bolt ARP $26
Carburetor Holley 850DP $460

Total $8032

Add $1000 for head poritng to support 600+ HP $9032

Personally ('specially if this is fantasy-type stuff), I'd take a hammer from D.E.I. or Hendricks Racing, set-up for Martinsville:
5500-to-9000 RPM over 1000 times a day (twice a lap for 500 laps), pulling a 3500-pound car off a flat corner, with very few engine failures.....

imagine that on the street, or at the strip!

They flow 285cfm out of the box, I have seen similar numbers with Brodix and AFR but unless they are 100% CNC'ed $$$$$ then I stick to what I said, since I also have first hand experience with them, I can't really find anything wrong with them

If we're dreaming, then why not have this 750hp twin turbo installed into a C3

I"m very happy with my 388 so far, and imagine it'll only get better with some more time on it

Motorheads estimate is pretty realistic when building a stout engine, and there's still lots more options to jack the price

GM's 572 big block would also be a great option, just remember that you'd have to upgrade cooling, exhaust, assessory brackets, etc. when going from smallblock to bigblock which then jacks the swap price some more. But boy wouldn't it be cool to have the largest genuine crate motor ever offered by under the hood

Here are some specs on the engine that AR just built for me... It still needs to be dyno tuned...

406 small block with fully ported DART PRO 1 heads with 230 cc intake runners and a solid roller cam (Comp Cams) with 264/270 degrees .050 duration and .670 lift (using 1.6 ratio roller rockers), fully forged bottom end with 11.7:1 CR, fully ported Victor Jr intake with 1 inch spacer and Holley 80514 1000 cfm carb... I will post dyno results as soon as I get them...

I am running 3.75' stroke, I meant the only thing I would change from mine was the stroke for more cubes, I have a Moroso 7qt oil pan that worls fine with the 3.75" stroke crank, the also sell a stroker version with notched in the rails to clear bigger cranks
