Tackling the heat soak
Got a bit of a starter heat soak problem. Anybody know if I can heat wrap the solenoid while it's installed? I'd rather not go down the road of remote solenoid or mini-starter, but not being able to crank when the engine is hot is a PITA!!

Sure you can... There are two types of heat shields - an insulated metal type that bolts on and a blanket type that wraps and velcros on. Search Jegs and Summit for "starter heat shield'.

you know the idea of wrapping solenoids and starters never made any sense to me....if it keeps the heat out at some point everything gets hot and then its keeping the heat in.... a heat shield makes more sense to me..... i went to a ministarter
