OK, I'll give this one a try. The American Racing (AR) Torq Thrust II wheels seen on my 1967 were purchased through that company one year ago. I was pre-advised by the C2 Forum folks to get my a** in gear re backspacing and offset before putting out money for C2 wheels. I explained my circumstances to Newstalgia re caliper clearance and fender rub. They contacted AR on my behalf and got the specs straight: 15 x 6", 3 3/8" backspacing and +1/8" offset: very close to the original ralleys. The wheels were custom made for me and delivered to me in Canada in about nine weeks (last January). The Pirellis came in at the same time from Tire Rack. With trepidation last May after winter storage ended, I went down to the local tire shop to get all installed and hoping a winter plan comes together. You kind of want to wet your pants at times like this. That is serious wheel/tire money.
They fit!! My pants were dry. And the summer of 2004 is history. No hesitation in recommending that company.
Paul: That is terrific news as I am planning to spend about $1800 bucks with them next month. What attracted me to them was they ship wheels and tires already mounted and balanced at no extra cost.
BTW, those are some good looking wheels on your 67 and the dice are too! Are those the Tri-Bar Carlisle Spinners? If so, do they attach to the wheel from the inside or just screw on from the outside?

Wheels look great Paul, where's that photo of those 4 bangers in front of your 67.... by far that was the best photo of to date....
The fuzzy dice annoy my Wife to heck. She thinks they are way too tacky. Well....it's my car. Yes, those are the AR Carlisle optional spinners at about $300 a set.
The center caps go on from the outside with Allen screws. Very nice and easy installation. I use anti-seize compound.
A local auto parts chain approached our Club and wanted a display Corvette for a promotion they were putting on for an Italian Week celebration last summer. Our Club President volunteered my car.
The venue was a local football park and the event was a static and moving display (mini-track) of some 75 Ferraris on tour in Canada. Our city was one stop in their journey leading to the Montreal Grand Prix.
The parts company had a truck loaded with free ballcaps and coffee mugs to promote their businesses. The girls are daughters and nieces of the owners of those firms. They gave away the freebees.
The event organizers would not let me on the track with the Ferraris....something about my car not being red?
For what it's worth. I emailed them last week asking about the weight of their aluminum 16x8 Rallye wheels. I got an immediate response (24 pounds each). The wheels are a bit pricey at near $300 apiece. When I do decide which wheels and tires to change to I'll do business with them based on everything you guys said above. Thanks.

Your 67 is a great ambassador for all of our corvettes, guess they didn't want any competition.....
Much of what I say is in jest. Those Ferraris are pretty impressive vehicles. A 1967 Corvette like mine would not come close to their performance. Those Italian engines just play a symphony as they rev up. I had to admire them.
I just ordered 17 X 8 Billet Rallyes w/ 255/60's!!!
I emailed them with a question on suggested rim, tire, and backspacing for my '70 LT1. David Coker himself responded to my request. I ordered the next day and he called me at work a few days later to confirm. It's only been a couple of weeks, so I will report back when I get them on!

I was in this shop just the other day. They are located downtown Chattanooga TN a block off of the interstate. They mostly do Internet Sales and do have a showroom at the warehouse. I plan on buying my Wheel Vintique Billet Rally Wheels from them this spring.
David Coker the owner is Corky Cokers brother. Corky owns Coker Tire. They are a seperate entity. They are both stand up guys and I have several friends that have purchased wheels from David. Jim
