Default Valve Seal replacement question.

I did this a few years back on my 76 and want to do it on my 1988 Chevy Monty Carlo. What is the process to do this with the heads on the engine ? I remember using my air compressor and connecting it into the spark plug hole to keep the valve up but I am not sure what the whole process is. I need a quick refresh. Anybody ?
Thanks

Easy to do. Here is how I did mine.

1. Remove dist cap so I could see rotor.
2. Remove plugs.
3. Rotate engine till TDC mark on balancer is pointing at timing mark and dist rotor is pointing at #1. Engine now has #1 piston at TDC.
4. I fed a little rope into the cylinder at this point but with the piston at TDC, there is not enough room for the valve to drop into the cylinder.
5. Remove rocker arms and pushrods on #1.
6. Using a spring compressor (I used the cheap bar type), remove valve spring. Swap seal, reinstall spring (use a little grease on the locks to help them stay in place).
7. Repeat step 6 with other valve on cylinder.
8. Reinstall pushrods (use flashlight). Reinstall rocker arms.
9. Since piston is ta TDC on firing stroke, you can set valve lash. So, set valve lash on #1.
10. Rotate engine 90 degrees to bring next cylinder in firing order to TDC. Repeat procedure with that cylinder.

Whole job took me 5 hours but was actually fairly easy.
