Default curious about a transplant

Hello, I'm new and am not currently a vette owner. I'm a transam owner dreaming of owning a c3. Maybe after I graduate with my degree and settle down, I will work on that, but I Still like brainstorming.

What kind of modifications would it take to pull an LT1 or an LS1 out of a wreck camaro or corvette, and transplant the motor and the M6 into a c3? Would that be economical or would it take lots of money to pull off? I was wondering if there would be anything else that you could use, like the breaks? or the seats?

I figure there would probably be someone out there that has done it. Thanks

Do a search on LT1, there is a thread in the past 2 weeks on this very thing.

I have heard of guys putting is used LT1 & 6 speeds for less than the cost of a new aftermarket overdrive tranny. Probably what I'll do eventually...

i did a search for the lt1 and came up with nothing....."scooter70" has an awesome 70 with an ls1. his web page is pretty informative too. i do have a question though, does the lt1 use the same motor mounts as the sbc?

maybe I'm not searching right? All I found in the C3 forum was a thread about demon carburators? Cmashark thanks for the link.

THats why I posted this, I figured there would be people that have atleast thought about it.

I'd just like to explore this idea a bit more, I didn't mean to add to the "over kill posts" I just can't find any of the threads
Thanks and sorry.

This is a worthwhile conversion. It will wake up your C3 Vette whether the engine is a L98, LT1 or a LS1. You will never go back to a carburetor.
