I never installed this onto my car as I still need the EFI fuel pump, regulator and a few sensors. Instead I'm thinking fo replacing my Holley 750vac sec with a BG 850DP. I could use the extra money now that I'm going back to school so I may let the EFI go. What do you think, am I carzy for not installing this on my car?

If you ever get around selling the EFI Mike, shoot me an email, I might be interested...
I can't tell you which way to go but after having an EFI system on my 80 for the past 7 years I will give sum up my experience with EFI. What started as a straight TPI swap and progressed over the years to the present form of a TPIS mini-ram, F.A.S.T. fuel management system, 30 lb injectors, walbro HP in tank fuel pump etc. The system is smooth and adaptable but....for the money, if I knew then what I know now, I would probably have stayed with a carbureted system. Of course, to each his own! Happy New Year!
It's a Lingenfelter custom made EFI intake and billet fuel rails for a sbc and a 1200cfm Lingenfelter billet throttlebody. 42lb injectors. The intake is gasket matched to a 1206 Felpro intake gasket. The computer is a Holley Commander 950 that has the Race Version upgrade done to it.
As you can see the intake (single plane) also has 4 corner cooling ports.
Here's a shot from above it.
Jay I'll let you know if I do decide to sell it.
So am I nuts to sell the EFI and stay with a carb induction? It isn't costing me anything to keep the stuff, but I could use the extra money and I do want to get rid of the vacuum secondary carb that's now on my car

I agree -- stay with the injection !!
No one who has done the conversion can ever say that carburetor was better than injection - not unless they screwed up the install. My Vette runs SO SO SO much better than with the carb. Starts right up, idles great, pulls to 6K rpm with no lean / rich spots. It never stumbles in any weather / load. That and with the overdrive I am getting gas mileage similar to C5 Corvettes. I have done several trips with other C5's and had to put the same amount of gas in as they did at our fuel stops.

That is one sweet looking setup. That would be awesome under the hood of my vette. Just out of curiousity, how much is that going to set me back? I would love to add something like that to my vette. I think you should stick it out and use the EFI, that is one thing that I would love to eventually add to mine.
The drivability aspect make it worth it alone. Add in whatever fuel economy gains you get and the factor (that thing just looks cool) and you'd be silly to get rid of it. After all the time, work, and $ you put into that motor, it deserves the best.
Don't listen to them , EFI sucks... If I were you I would sell it to me immediately without any further hesitation so you may not have to worry with this problem any longer. I'm full of dude, that's a sweet setup you got , i would be very hard pressed to get rid of it. Like you said it's not costing you anything to keep around, but if you do decide to sell it, let me know if the other options above don't work out. Also I assume you have the heads installed on your car now? If not do you want to sell those as well?
Steve
EFI is way better. I'm still having some issues with my Holley Commander 950 MPFI but it is so much better than a carburetor there is really no comparison. The tuning options you have and the information you get from the sensors is almost priceless. Having access to that via a laptop is well worth it. Go with the EFI.
Thanks everyone. It looks like the consensus is that I should keep the EFI and install it when I can.
Scooter and Pat thanks, that's kinda what I've been telling myself too. I know that I can get more out of my engine if I get rid of the vac sec carb that's on there now. I bought that carb brandnew 2 years ago and I've got it tuned pretty well over the summer on my 388.
One of the things I've also strugled with is that if I ever decided to sell my car, it would be a selling point if I had the EFI installed.
