Assembling Braided Fuel Lines
Watching the football game today and want to get started on assembling the braided fuel lines I got for Christmas. Tips are welcome. What to cut it with? Wrap the line with masking tape first to cut it. Pull the tape off and then slide the nut on? Or leave the tape on and put the nut on? I have been sliding the nut on and then trying to put the 90 on. When I start tightening the nut it pushes the 90 off. Some of you pros give me a hint.
Thanks

Reading the Hot Rod and Car Craft articles it doesn't see all that difficult. I guess I need to use some assembly lube to make it a little easier apparently. I have the compression type mentioned in the Hot Rod article. I did't know even know there were different types when I was ordering.

I saw your post earlier today Eddie but was at work and couldn't reply in length. Work & life keep gettin in the way of "Vette-time."
When I first did my fittings, I think I followed directions from Russell. Similar though to Earls link above. Great links BTW.
The hardest parts for me was cutting the hose with minimum fraying and inserting the end into the fitting. The hose must go all the way to the end of the fitting. A little lube helps too. I used black electrical tape over the area you are cuting.
