Default need a little body mount help

Have my 77 up on stands and all body mount bolts out, side rocker covers off and the rear shock absorbing bumper mount unbolted as well.My question is do i need to unbolt anything up toward the front of the frame to allow enough movement to change the mounts? Also where should i jack the body from? I have seen some with 2x4s under the floor and some along the bottom of the rocker panels and would it help to use two floor jacks doing this? Plan on doing one side at a time and only raise body enough to get mounts in how much do i need to lift?

Have a look at this thread:
http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=976790

In addition: download this document:
http://NHvette.com/ftp/Body_mounts_small_file.pdf

Disconnect the battery cables and jack the body (as shown on the photos) 1", this is enough to remove the mounts and slide the new ones in...

Red bad ; I have read your article but would you still have to cut the rear inner fender to get #3 in and without unbolting the front bumper frame brackets will this put a strain on the front fenders? Just don't want to crack anything. My new mounts should be here monday and getting the old bolts out without breaking them took a very long time but sure not as long as if one had broke and had to lift the body higher.

Everything seems to be flexible enough to lift the body 1" - while I was jacking it I listened for any weired noises (cracking fiberglass a.s.o.)

You will have to cut the inner fender at the #3 mount, there's just not enough space to get to it. I used a Dremel with a cutting wheel, this way I had a small and relatively precise cut. After glueing it back in it is not visible...

Good luck and keep us updated on your progress
