Default I need info on flex a lite fans

I'm thinking of installing a flex a lite dual fan on my 81 to help with overheating problems. I seen somewhere in one of the vette forums the guy installed it, ran it for a year, and took it out. Has anyone installed one of these? Do they work?
I would also like to install a keyless entry system to save my new (expensive) paint job

I installed dual 12 inch fans on my 79 and they do a good job. If I had it to do over, I would have installed a DeWitts aluminum radiator with the twin Spal fan setup. Everyone has had great success with it. As for the keyless entry. Vettes have a reversing polarity system for the lock actuators and is a little tricky to install a keyless entry. A good kit will cost close to $100.00 and at most places that do that kind of installations the kit and installation will cost approx. $200.00. Your level of expertise should dictate whether you do it or have it done. There are several posts on cooling your vette, as well as at corvettefaq.com. Hope this helps.

On the keyless entry, if you are somewhat mechanically/electrically inclined, you can build your own system, like I did. I bought a universal remote kit, can't remember the brand, but it doesnt matter anyways. I used universal actuators, too. I made no mods to the car, except for drilling holes in the door to mount the actuators. I just built the relays from Radio Shack parts. I dont think I spent more than $200 or so on the whole thing. Everything looked and worked like stock, but I just had a remote to it.
