Hooker sidepipes install or not
Decided to leave it up to my CF comrades whether I install the sidepipes or not, did a photochop of my car with the black ones I now have and the chrome ones, I would like to hear opinions

On a 6-73 I'd go with the ceramic coating or something else shiny. But on your car, I think the black matches better. I think something bright and shiny might detract from the overall appearance of your car. Right now, you've got that mean, all business look, not the showy classic look.
Go black! If you dont wan't to repaint them all the time, I think Jet Hot can ceramic coat in black, too...
leave them black..or you can get them Jet Hot coated in black....all that shine just doesn't fit your car...I think the wheels are enough bling...the sterling hookers would be too much.
Leave them black. Personally, the less chrome the better.
I don't have pics, but; at a local show this summer, I saw one with black hooker headers with the chrome sidepipes.
I thought it looked different, but pretty good.
I voted no pipes at all because I like them only on bumper cars. BUT looking at the pics, I think the chrome ones look sweet. Chrome is my favorite colour.

I'm kinda leaning towards chrome right now, I am not sure how ceramic coating will hold up if you go through puddles etc. and the chrome would be easier to clean, gotta check the prices at the local platers,
Anyone have any idea how nmuch to chrome these pipes and what type of chrome I should use ?

FWIW...Mark's69bb has sterling headers and chrome side tubes. The only shop I know does only "show quality" and it ain't cheap. Might be better buying the one's already chrome from Sumitt.
I love chrome on bumper sharks but Chevrolet went to a lot of trouble to dechrome a lot of the car (except wheels thank god) and the black pipes make it look lower to the ground. Chrome is more of a hassle when it gets a little messed up during normal use. Black can be touched up easy.

Could I get away with bumper chrome ?
nobody loves chrome more than me so i bought the chrome headers and sidepipes, installed em and watched that shiny chrome turn colors when starting the 1st time. after 3 or 4 yrs they started rusting so off they went to jet-hot for coating. best move i ever made, that and dewitts rad. just took em apart for jcl baffles and they looked like new inside there. as for cleaning, no problem, i just hit em w/some metal or chrome polish, they shine rite up. also that sterling finish jet-hot has now really shines bright. u can call jet-hot and they'll send u a tape of their procedure on coatings and colors. cya
wayne....the chrome will surface rust at the collector...when i have mine redone i am going to go with a gloss black finish.... if you want to see the rust i am talking about, come have a look at mine...
Coat them black is not an option in your poll
I like black but I live in Fla. and mine are starting to get surface rust after only about 5 months!!!! Next time I'll find a high temp BLACK coating Before I install them!
