What do I need, I found this at Paragon. Is this all I need? where does it connect, I don't think I have any electrical connections down there. How does it mount to the tranny or linkage?

Anything else I need to buy?

There is an electrical connection on the drivers side firewall, I think it just bolts on the trans with 2 bolts. Sorry I cant help more. My engine is tucked away nice and safe underneath a table, and the reverse switch is hidden.

I have a few pics on my corvette forum webpage but for whatever reason, can't get to them Len. I will upload a few to the Photobucket webpage. There is a small rod missing that you will need also, it connects the switch to the reverse shift arm.

Hope these help Len. I took these pics for Shannon when the muncie was in the car. He was doing the same thing you are apparently.

Jughead,

Look for the wire that should come down from the firewall and hook up with the wire off the reverse switch that you route forward along the tunnel to meet it. Of course, they designed it so the connection is right at the back of the motor - a PITA! As you see, it's a two-wire 90-degree connection (as I recall - car not with me). You don't say that you have the two screws and...there will also be a sort of road debris "skid-plate" that sandwiches the switch onto the tranny. With your bad machine backed up to the garage wall so you can see when the backup lights come on, switch the car to run but don't start it. Now move the switch lever back and forth to confirm that it lights up for you (to be sure that the switch is good). Now the fun part - figure out which way to mount the switch so that it works in reverse and shuts off otherwise. The photos on this thread should help you out. Also check Dr Rebuild or your assembly manual for the parts and how they connect. Don't ask how I know it is possible to mount the switch backwards - I finally got it right! Thanks to the other guys and those great pics, you should be able to sort this out fairly quickly. Be sure you get and use the little "skid pad" as stuff can get knocked up there from the road - taking out a $60 switch in the process.

Default Switch mounting

Hi, You need one more bracket to mount that switch. It attachs to the side cover and the switch attachs to it, If you look closely at Eddies pix's you can just barely see it.Tell ya what, if you have a doc rebuild catalog # volume 29 look on page 180 on the upper left corner to get an idea of what else besides the switch that you'll need. I hope this helps. BTW you have my dream car, it is a beauty! Peace,,,Craig

There is also a ~ 4in linkage which attaches from the L shape on the switch to the reverse lever on the shifter that will rotate the switch when reverse is engaged.
