Default 2004r question for my 79

Slow process. Well I got my crossmember down and unbolted the flange on it that bolted to me th-350. It looks there is two holes from the factory in the crossmember on the bottom side. I believe if I drill through the top side of the crossmember lining up through the holes on the bottom It should bolt right in. Any thoughts or advise? I also need a tranny mount. Can't seem to find one.. I looked at bowtie overdrives, and I didn't see one for a stock crossmember. I have heard some ppl moved their crossmember straight back and drilled the frame, i didn't do that.

Thanks!!

I have no idea what you're talking about. There should be no drilling. Just a standard GM transmission mount should work. I got mine from Summit for like $12 in urethane. There should be two slotted holes in the top of the crossmember right between to the two exhaust holes. Just bolt the mount in there.

Schmucker is correct. No drilling needed. Should bolt to the holes already in the center of the crossmember. I did the same swap in a 77. Piece of cake.

so does the tranny mount require 4 bolts? I could see how that would work if that were the case. 2 from tranny to mount and two from mount to crossmember. still gotta find one.

Yes, that is how it works. Two bolts through the transmission into the mount and two to hold the mount to the crossmember.
It would look like this
