Default wiper motor or switch?

With wiper door open, I hear a loud click when I turn wiper switch on but wipers dont move and motor is not spinning. Slow or fast position makes same click noise. It just worked fine a week ago.

Anyone know if it's bad switch or motor? I checked grounds which look alright.

How can I test either?

There is a button type switch on the firewall near the passenger wiper arm.. The door has a piece on it that must "make" this switch when the door is open. Mine broke a wire on the switch once. This switch won't allow the wipers to operat until the door is fully open.

I know the switch and I think it is a vacuum relay type. I looked at it and it looked fully depressed with door open.

Back in the day, Chevy put out a TSB on how to troubleshoot the '68 wiper system. I imagine the '69 is really close.

I had the same symptoms as you and it turned out to be a bad motor.

Was the switch under the steering wheel checked?

You're the winner Commando. The switch under the steering is broken and was to the off position.

At least I dont need to spend more money. THX

There is another electrical switch along with the vacuum relay. It is on the firewall with a red and white striped wire... I realize you solved the problem.
