4spd owners, clutch question....
How much pedal travel do you have befor your clutch engages? I'm running a stock clutch pressure plate from a '73 Small block and the clutch engages only 1/2-3/4in off the floor. I'ave played with the adjustments but to no avail. Whould a new clutch and switching to a hydraulic solve this?

So are you saying the clutch starts to engage where it should (about 1/2 to 1" from the top) but does not fully engage (release) until it is only 1/2 to 3/4" off the ground? That sounds f'd up.

Where are you adjusting it? It should have plenty of adjustment travel under the hood. Since it starts to grab so low to the firewall, are you getting any "clunking" when shifting or putting it into gear? If so, it might not be fully releasing.
Mine starts to grab about 25% of the way up and is fully engaged about 90% of the way up. I adjust mine so the nothing happens for the first inch or so from the top when you are depressing it.
