I didnt mean to insult anyone with my post yesterday. I was just trying to be funny. I have the oil pan question figured but I thought I would try you guys one more time without proding at you.
I have a 65 that had been in a reck at some point in its life. The frame was replaced with what I believe is a C3 frame modified to fit. I would like to know how I can identify what year the frame is. Is there a vin stamped somewhere that can be seen with the body on. If not is there some other identifying features that I can see to narrow it down. Thanks for the help.
The VIN can sometimes be seen with a mirror. It is located on top of the frame rail right around the left rear tire. The exact placement can sometimes vary. This is where most of them are located. If the frame is rusty it might not be readable. I was able to find mine (with the body off) and took pictures of it. Hope this helps.
Mine was stamped on the driver side rail about halfway between wheels.... right on top of the frame, so I'm not sure how you could read it with the body on.
