Low fuel indicator
Can anyone help? Have a 1979 and can't keep a low fuel indicator working for more than 6mos or less give or take. I have to find the whole little circut board,because it is not the bulb. Would like to keep it working,because some people just put the key in and go. You guys know what I mean!!!!!. Had to bring gas. >>>Didn't you see the light!! WHAT LIGHT??? got it. This the 3rd one that has given prob and would like to solve it. This is a Vette,,,it's suppose to work,,Right.Thanks for any help ..Mike. M409z28@charter.net

It's basic but you may want to remove the fuel tank lid and rubber boot and clean the contacts. Sometimes that ground will corrode and distort the electrical signal sent to the front.
From there I would probably get a wiring diagram for the 79 and look at the colored wires that come out from that indicator light and attempt to trace for any broken or frayed wires. I've got a 79 here...if I can be of help...let me know.
