Default California Emission system

Forum/members advice/help: I had just purchased a 1981 Vette, Coupe
T-Top. My goal is to completely restore with a couple of exception or modification which alot of you experts have done before. Here is one of a few threads I will be posting. Almost forgot ----- I am presently residing in Virginia, member of BeachComer Vette Club, and a wonderful bunch of guys and gals.

First Thread: The stock engine has the California Emission system, and would like to remove it. I have an idea but the pros always have the right answers. What do I need to replace in the engine componant? i.e. intake, exhause manifold.
Second Thread: During my electrical and wiring dismantaling, it was a hell-of-a spagette and congestion area to do any work. So I came up with the idea to relocate my fuse panel to the rear section between the two rear speakers. I have designed a 4.5 X 32 X 6 inch with a snap cover blended in with carpet. Is this a good idea? Is there any recommendation?

1. Check with you local inspection codes to see if you can remove any or all of your emissions. If you do remove them, don't sell 'em or through them out. You may need them later.

2. First time I ever heard of moving the fuse panel to the rear of the compartment. You may be exploring new territory here.

Good Luck.
