Why mod?
Here's why.........
Original = 190hp in front of a TH350
Mod = 430+ hp in front of a Richmond 6sp.

Which would you rather have?

Originally I was going to go stock.

Now I have a 400 sbc with the L82 and all the original equipment sitting in my garage. It will go back in my 78 someday when I find a rolling chassis project. I will probably put in a different set of seats... maybe a set of TT II's... a 5 speed would be nice... see how it starts?

For now, I just want to drive it.

There's not much color left, not much interior, I'm not really sure what year most of it is anymore, and I'm not welcome at most respectable car shows

Our cars are beautiful stock, but I've seen so many I just look through 'em these days unless they're something really special tragic, I know.

I like mine stock in apearance with some mods that do not affect the stock "look" too much. Internals are fair game.

STOCK !! My 73 is completely stock and 80% still with the same equipment as it came from the factory. Only 30k miles on it. Why change it.

The C5 is a different matter now but I keep all the old parts in case someone 30 years from now wants to drive a gasoline engine vehicle that is all original

I think the only things that are stock about our 74 are the body & the wheels. We're NCRS too

Default Modify!!

I plan on modifying mine as much as my budget will allow!

I appreciate the totally stock pristine ones to look at, but; not for myself.

I like the stock look (Except wheels and side pipes)
Internally, I'm gonna mod the crap out of it if I can.

I think it would depend on which Vette. Mid year or chrome bumper that already had good performance and was in decent shape, I'd go stock.

My 79 or one that is never going to be worth as much money as the mid year and chrome bumper? Mod it! Technology has advanced way too much to not take advantage of it.

Isn't this one of the reasons you drive a Corvette? To stand out and be different?

I guess this is one of the reasons that I want a Corvette so bad:
1. They are cool
2. They are fast
3. Not everone has one.

Doing a full frame off and can go either way, but decision is stock body, stock look interior(adding Full leather), Crate engine and converting to 4 spd from auto. Its MY car and I can do what I want. I'm not concerned with "its worth more all stock". Lately it seems like people are more concerned with a good driver that looks great. Corvettes were made to be driven !!!!

I like my '81 original. It's a four-speed with 31k miles. The only mods are a high-flow catalytic and a K&N air filter, things I can easily return to stock. My car is somewhat slow, but that's ok. I drive it less than 200 miles a year.

All stock with the exception of true duals and flow masters. Only reason for keeping it stock was I got a great deal on a low mileage car that needed paint. The engine and drive train are in good shape - I didn't say fast - so decided to keep it stock. Once I sell it and get my non matching 70 then I will go for performance.
