I suppose it might dry out eventually if exposed to air but it's the chemical reaction between the filler and the hardener that makes the putty set up correctly.

I owned an Alfa Romeo - I have a lot of experience with Bondo.
I'm fairly new to the forum so I apologize if this has been said before. If 1 drop of Hardener was put into a gallon of "bondo" and throughly mixed it would eventually cure. But no hardner, no cure.
I hope you guys know that the C-3s are actually SMC not true fibreglass, and when doing any "bondo" work on the bare body you should be using the SMC "Bondo"( SMC stands for Sheet molded compound). If you are using "bondo" over paint, the regular stuff is OK, but I dont recommend it.
