Default wire gauge for alternator wires

Does anyone know what the of gauge wires are that go to the plug on the alternator (red & brown wires) and the red wire that bolts on to the back of alternator w/the rubber boot over it? Also were can I get the flat connectors for the red and brown wires that go into the white plastic plug?

both reds are #10
brown is #20
black is #12

the spade connectors have to be shielded the entire length...look at a boat store, radio shack or electrical rack at auto parts store for "weather Proof" connections

I've been having the same problem on my 69 big block. My plug-in connector to the alternator was shot and wanted to replace it. Had the large red wire going to it. All replacements I could find had smaller guage wire coming out of plug. Saw a conversion plug in one of the Vette catalogues that converted 63-68 models to later plug in alternators. Ordered one and it came with Lectric Limited label on it (www.lectriclimited.com). It was smaller guage wire on both leads. Spliced it into my harness and covered with electric tape to hide connection. Seems to work OK.
