Back in the 60's a friend of mine worked at the Ford assy plant in Linden, NJ, where they made Mustangs. One day they were pissed about something so they took some lug nuts and placed them in an area under the trunk that got sealed off when all the sheet metal was welded together. It was a void that ran across the car, so when you went around turns the nuts would roll around in there. The best part is they put a note in there that said "Bet you had a hell of a time finding this". Only problem was they never knew the outcome.
Aside from being funny.... which it is... I am seriously wasting brain power trying to decide if that is "factory original" or aftermarket. Since that is the issue, it should be a legitimate question for the NCRS board. But for some reason I am afraid they would refuse to consider the question.
So, do you really think that is factory original? If yes, you would expect more than 1 car to be like that wouldn't you? Is that a Monday car? What is the vin?

Unless you could prove it original with good documentation, it would not be good for your score. Even then, NCRS has basic guidelines that reward "Normative Practice", not "as that particular car was shipped" configuration. You would likely get a deduct for such an undocumented abnormality type thing if it were visible when scored.

Agreed, but it's really no big deal. Cars are judged "as delivered" from the factory. Since the sill plate is in place when delivered by the factory, this "anomoly" won't be visible. Therefore, no deduct. We'll be the only ones that know.
