Default Offset trailing arms

I'm considering using the offset trailing arms from VBP on my 80 model.
Any input on how they worked out? How wide of a tire will this let me get to and keep it under the car?

I have a sale on offsets now. I actually build the offset assemblies for them.

You can run a max of 10". You will have to shorten your spring about 1/2" per side if you go that wide and you may have to eliminate your rear sway bar if you got that wide. You can always run a 9" or 9.5" rim and not have to do cut the spring or loose the sway bar.

Van Steel, I have a set of your offset arms. Right now I'm waiting on a set of custom flares being built for my 81. I have a TRW rear spring that I could use and I'm planning on using 17"-18" wheels 11" or 12" wide. Do you know of any problems I might encounter with this setup? Thanks.......

You may have the same problem BUT most of your rim is going out, not it. The sway bar may be a problem.

Steel springs are easy to shorten. While spring steel is tough it can be cut with a normal saw and drilled with normal drills. Just use low speeds and lots of cutting oil. I do only one side then drill a new 3/8th hole dead center between the 2 large holes.

Van,
Thanks for the info, 9.5 wheel sounds good to me, I have not started this project just yet but will soon. I bought the car mostly dissasembled, brought the body and frame home on a trailer and all the pieces in boxes stacked in the back of the pickup. So I might as well as go ahead, take the body off the frame and do the chassis right.
What is the sale price for offset assemblies, (By assemblies are we refering to bushings, bearings shafts all included)? Is the offset 2"?
