While going through my 70 coupe, I noticed a fair amount of dirt and rust flakes coming out of various access holes in the frame...mostly dirt. My question is, how can I get it out? I can easily get a long wand for my air compressor and get it in most of the access holes, but where can I get the dirt to exit? Maybe I haven't looked hard enough...
I used a hose.... water..... high pressure municipal source. Amazing what comes out. My 66 had cow poop all up in the frame (unmistakeable odor) from somewhere in Milford PA.
The frame gets wet from normal driving (in the rain etc) so it isn't blasphemy to use water. You only have to do it once and it will dry out. Better than having all that crud (sand & salt dust?) in there that holds moisture in and promotes rust... IMOP
If you take the rear bumper support off, the frame is wide open. Now that will give you some more "While I'm at it.." projects.
Thanks rexx. I did notice that getting at the rear sections shouldn't be too hard, but I'm wondering about the long straight sections below the doors, as well as the sections that go across from drivers side to passenger side...it dosen't seem like I'd be able to blow all the dirt back and over the raised curve over the rear wheels and out the back. Are there other good access points where I can blow dirt and rust out?

I like that idea....seems like the water would carry the dirt and debris out with it when it drains out the small holes, vs. trying to blow it out at a specific place somewhere. I'm assuming you used a garden hose? Where exactly in the frame did you put it? Its looking like I'll need to get at almost every section. Thanks,
