Default Positraction noise

I've just had my differential re-built, and after a long'ish run, the limited slip diff starts to bind a bit... making that creaking /banging noise when you turn a corner

.... when i first got it back from the shop it had been filled with synthetic oil and the problem was worse... but i drained that and re-filled with the normal oil plus addative mixtue, which has made things better... but i'm still getting that binding when it's warmed up

.... any ideas??? ... would it help if i just got another bottle of addative and put more in??

Go to a empty supermarket lot and do figure 8's to get it all worked in
with the new lube

Use another bottle of additive and more figure "8"s if the snapping does not go away. I have needed 2 bottles in the past.

Certainly try the oil. Do you know how the posi was rebuilt? If they used springs there are at least 3 different ratings I now of. You might want to contact them to discuss it if the oil doesn't work.
Good luck,
Gary

At least I'm not the only one...."creak.....pop...pop...pop...clun k, clunk, clunk"! That ranks up there with the squealing of calipers on rotors!!

thanks guys... sounds like 'more addative' is certainly the thing to try first.

Cheers!
