Default Vette vs Mustang.

Own both - love both, but..........

When a Ferrari passes my van, I think, yeah but try putting 3 tons of plasterboard in your boot, and lets see who gets there first.

Its all about money, buck for buck, the Mustang carries more and is far cheaper anyway.

Have not looked at the figures recently but I bet there is no change........

buck for buck the Vette is the fastest 2 seater in the World, and with 4 seats the Mustang carries the title.

If you DON'T put money into the contest, then compare the Vette to a Formula 1 car with a dickie seat welded on.

Or the comfort of a Vette compared to the latest Rolls Royce.......

Come on guys, plug in some common sense please.......

Man I wouldn't know where to start.Kinda like the apples/oranges thing.I don't dislike Mustangs but for the last 20 yrs they haven't built one that I would buy.I did have a 69 black/black mach one SCJ 4 speed, but that was many many moons ago.I think the car was less than two yrs old when I got. That was one of the best cars I've ever had.

2 seat 4 seat?? step away from the crack pipe, mustangs were built to compare to camaros, even ford knew better than to compare them to vettes.
fix up a mustang,then spend the same $ ON A CAMARO,NO COMPARISON...

The real problem is Chevy can not provide new Camaro's at this time, rumor has it 2007 will be the next chance to buy a new one. I really don't know what Chevy is thinking, the Vette is the only rear wheel drive car they make right now. Just bought an 05 Mustang for my wife, it's a nice car for the money. Still better to buy a Ford then a rice burner IMHO.

Actually the Mustang was designed to compete with the Corvair. The Camaro was Chevy's answer to the Mustang.

I've driven Mustangs many times but I'd rather have the independent rear suspension of the Corvair. But, hey, I've go a Vette. Who needs anything more?

The new 2005 Mustang rocks! I don't know how any baby boomer wouldn't like the styling. GM blew it when the canned the "F" body.
The new Pontiac GTO is a joke--lots of power, but styling that looks like everything else Pontiac calls "Grand" (ie, Grand Prix, Grand Am...).

Which do you like more?

C6 or New mustang? If you had to choose 1.

Of course this is a Corvette forum, but even on mustang forums I bet ALOT would choose the Vette. Its just a better car.

Flood...........isn't this where we came in.......

Value for money its not better - its worse !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It costs nearly double............

dare say if Ford spent double the money on production then the Vette would get its *** kicked.

Why can't you lot stop waiving your automotive ******* around with the " mines bigger than yours attitude " - or is there some dark inferiority spectre lurking in the closet ??

Or if money's no problem, lets talk about the Vette versus a McLaren F1...................

Two different cars at two different price ranges..... now pull your zippers up.

Your kidding, right? between the frame rot at the rear control arm and the birdcage cancer, early vettes define rust. Both cars are fine; it's all in what you want. Me, I want both

A C3 is better than any same period Mustang. The new Mustang has a good design and look. If I had the money ( nor stupid money i.e Italian sports car) I may just plunk it down on an early Viper GTS. My $.02

Sorry to disappoint chu, but - a new Vette would not be a financial burdon, selling my XK120 OTS would pay for a new Vette, and if that did not exist then maybe selling one of my 7 houses would pay for several new Vettes, and if they did not exist, maybe selling one of my nightclubs would do it, and if they did not exist, maybe the factory which averages 400 grand ( English ) a week.........get the picture.

The thing for me is I think the new Vette looks like crap and I prefer a C3.

Need to get my 1981 C3 up to par with the engine etc mods.

Was in a new Lambo last week for the Cannonball - crap uncomfortable, had 3 new clutches under warranty inside 12 months.

Although no one will agree, the best looking car in the world, ever, regardless on money is a 1971 Mach 1 with full decals.

too funny. on the serious side, you can buy a fast car from just about any manufacturer nowadays. who's fastest on any given day probably depends more on who's car is in the best tune and who's not asleep at the wheel when the light turns.

it all depends on what image you want. and in that respect there is NO COMPARISON between corvette and ANY other American made car.
