Default Line lock install question

I am getting ready to install a line lock on my 68 BB and , there isn't much room for mounting it. Any one that has one, where did you mount the solenoid?I was thinking of making a bracket that would go under the master cylinder, using the mounting bolts for the master cylinder, then attach the line lock solenoid on it. Any better ideas out there?
(Oh , I do have Hooker side mounts to try and stay away from)

I installed mine just ahead of the master cylinder and you're right there was not alot of room. I'll try to post a pick for ya tomorrow to show exact location. Works fine though.

I mounted mine on the fender well directly under the master cylinder. It is easy at this point to remove that brass block and run the brake lines individually to the front and to the back.

Indy, I would love to see a pic of how you did yours

Norval, I had some thoughts along those lines (no pun intended )but the way i was thinking of doing it, I was afraid that the line was more vulnerable in the event of a tire or road hazard. How did you route yours to avaid that?

Thanks,
Dave

I made a metal plate. Then I attached the solenoid to the plate and then used the two existing bolts attaching the pressure differential switch to the frame to hold the plate and solenoid to the car. A little cutting, a little grinding, a little drilling and you're good to go.

Mine went on the fenderwell above the proportioning valve. Fits nicely there and is far away enough from any heat sources. Good mod to have, is useful as well for regular driving on hills etc which I hadn't really anticipated as I just wanted a way to do monster burnouts. Easier to hold the button with one finger rather than musceling the manual brakes all the time as I have had a bum leg for the past several months.

On my '64 (with '70 dual M/C), I just replaced the front "T" fitting on the frame with the solenoid. I was even able to use the existing holes and ground it to the frame.

How is bolting to to the inner fender going to cause a problem. Anything hitting it would have to go through the plastic fender and if it hasn't happend yet take the chance.
I just mounted it under the master on the plastic fender and run the lines as normal only the line lock has 2 outlets and one inlet from the master cylinder. I went with seperate lines out of the linelock and a single inlet from the master cylinder.

OK, well "68" I braved the elements and got to the garage for a couple of pic under the hood. Now please understand that under the hood of my car is not the cleanest, but it works. Also please note that this engine is on its way to the underside of my work-bench as I'm about to install a Big Block!

I also took this of the other side to show you where I also installed my MSD-6AL and the 3 Step.
