Default Engine/tranny install update and transmission mount question...

Finally attached the engine to the transmission... It was a learning experience.. I had them together earlier, but the holes on the flexplate didn't line up with the holes on the converter
Re-did everything and it's fine now.. Now I'll only have to drop in the engine/transmission

Here's a pic of the current status...

Now here's my question: How do you assembly the transmission mount?
Here's a pic and I wonder what the right order of the bolt, washers and locking nuts is..

Here's the way that I think it has to be installed on the tranny:

bolt, washer, transmission mount, washer, plate, transmission.

Is this correct??

Another question: Should I install the tranny mount first to the tranny and then install it or should I install the tranny mount first to the crossmember and then drop the tranny on it?

Yes, that is the way I did mine. Bolt it to the trans or it will be a real pain once it is in place to get the bolts in.

The flat washer goes under the lock washer not between the mount and plate as shown. I bolt the mount on first but I remove the trans crossmember.

i put the 700r4 and engine in as one, then put a jack under trans pan and picked it up to get the crossmember in....do not tighten motor mounts until the trans is aligned and remember the front drivers side top motor mount bolt holds the Pwr steering pump bracket

Don't have power steering...

I have a fixed crossmember.. so I'll probably have the transmission mount afterwards...

I might end up installing the tranny mount afterwards because I've got the fixed crossmember..

I have that same poly mount, and it seemed really tall and i was scared it was going to throw off the geometry of the driveshaft..and i recall people having vibration problems with it, so i put in a new rubber mount. I actually used the plate supplied by the poly mount with the rubber mount, because i took off the stock undercar exhaust shield plate that came on it..it was the same thickness, so i used the poly mount plate. Anyways, i installed it with no washers in between like and the motor mounts are the same way.

it was enough of a pain with out a crossmember....i would think it would be a real PITA with a fixed crossmember.....does your tilt front make this process easier or harder?

Is that the same tranny mount talked about in an earlier thread? Is it the one the manufacturer said would not fit Corvettes because if the height? I put one on a truck with no problems. The instructions said the extra plate is for preload not spacing.

The instructions said to use washers 1 & 2 under the lockwashers for the trans bolts. Washers 3 & 4 go on the bolts to the crossmember if the crossmember bolts do not have heads with wide bases.
