Mounting my rotors, I'm sure I will have some runout.
Someone mentioned Stainless Brakes as a supplier of shims to correct this, but email to their tech line confirms they don't carry them anymore.
Guys at the local parts places just laughed - the joys of antique cars...
Anyone know of a vendor who still carries them - "Supporting" preferred, of course?
I make them up out of shim stock. If you're going to be doing vette brakes it's worth the investment to buy a punch set and shim stock from one of the many industrial supplier: MSC, McMaster-Carr, Enco, etc.
That along with tin snips or a sissor, dial indicator, and micrometer you're in. I can usually get rotors shimmed to .0005-.001" without having to turn them.New rotors have runout too.
