Requesting value on a low mile 82
I may be buying a Blue 1982 (few blue ones made in 82). It has just a little over 10K miles and all options and original paint (not restored).
Trying to determine a reasonable value before making purchase. Any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks!
PS: this car was in Cordova, TN from around 1988 to 1992. If you think you may know who the owner was, please let me know how to contact him/her. The car had only about 6 or 7K miles at that time.

It would be difficult to put a value on this '82; the market varies across the country. It might bring five figures in some areas and only four in others. I would agree the condition of the car (original) should add to the value. Make an offer. Good Luck.

Value of 10K 1982 Vette
Mr74Vette,
Two years ago I bought a nice, original '82 coupe with 100k miles for $6500...It needed new carpet and seats (cosmetic wise), and obviously needed attention because of mileage...So, after puting five grand into it, I have a nice daily driver.....Here's the point--Because of the crossfire injection (only available in 1982 and 1984) and low horsepower rating (i.e. 210 hp), there is NOT a big demand for these cars. These cars are very comfortable "cruisers," but they don't have the power of the early 1970's LT1 cars (350+ hp), nor of the late 1990's LT1 and LT4 vettes (300 and 330 hp).....Considering that you can pickup a 1970-1972 BIG BLOCK vette in nice condition for about $18,000 (sometimes less!), It would have to be a really, really nice 1982 (minimal amount of work needed, and paint in pristine condition) and even then, I wouldn't pay over $13K or $14K for it. Be aware that some of these "collectors" think they are going to get rich selling a low mile Corvette, and ask totally unreasonable prices for them. Remember, there were about a million Corvette Sharks produced from 1968 through 1982...they are plentiful, and you can find a nice one, at the price you are willing to pay, with a little diligent searching and a little patience.
Good luck!

With that low of mileage, Id say $11-$13K max sell price, depending on your desire to own it.
82s are great cruisers with good gas mileage that makes the Vette runs more enjoyable IMHO. The 285 lb-ft. of torque is not sluggish either with the lower gearing of the 700R4.
Enjoy....
