Beautiful car, for sure. One thing you might consider: Prices for 73s have been falling like stones for the past several months according to the Price Guide I use. Maybe that's scaring people off right now. Dunno. Perhaps it's a combination of that, lo-po motor, and over $20k price.....probably a variety of factors consipiring against the sale right now.

Either way, very nice car!

What price guide is that? I'm curious because some price guides are ok and some are ridiculous, but I don't know of any of them that show prices on any pre-'84 (or even C4's for that matter) dropping like a stone.

I would like to see that price guide also. I do believe prices have leveled off some, but I don't think they are dropping like a rock.

There is a connection between classic cars, corvettes in particular, and the housing market / general economy. I think that is the primary source of the flat market conditions for classic corvettes at this point in time.

The car that Eddie has is a very nice vehicle. I am one of those rare people that don't particularly like convertibles. Otherwise, I would have made a competitive offer on this one already.

I believe I have seen that guide, but the market does not appear to be at those levels. I have been looking at these since June and I have not seen a 1973 sale at those numbers. If I am reading your guide correctly, the vehicle at the beginning of this thread would be worth over $30K (vert in ex condition). Maybe it should have that value, but the market does not appear to be near that level. If it is at that level, we are all pretty foolish not to be sending Eddie offers to purchase at his asking price (probably not a bad move anyway).

I always use giudes as just that, guides. The market will change monthly and is geographically influenced as well. Also I think that sometimes Good and Excellent condition are mis-interpreted. Heck all of us think our cars are in show condition anyway!

I looked at the 73 to bring around 19k right now, but who knows?

Thanks for the input, this car is a driver not an NCRS vehicle. I have tried to make that point clear from the start. This car is a great weekend cruising vehicle or one for those long weekend trips. I'll be the first to say the car is not a $30,000 show car. I have tried to set the price in the ballpark to generate some interest. I would like to sell the car but I'm not in a position to where I have to sell the car. I have researched the vehicle values for the past few years and have discovered this car increases in value anywhere from 9% to 13% each year. I guess it comes down to the right person finding the right car. I'm still looking for that person...

Thanks
Eddie

I don't think it's a sellers market right now. Judging by ebay and auctions, the market is set for buyers. There are just to many people with ARMs and increasing mortage payment that are looking at getting rid of their investments. i.e. vettes, camaro, etc. they bought two or three years ago. I think it will probably get worse this winter and then turn around in a few years. Just my opinion.

If you don't need to sell the 73, don't do it right now. If you do, expect to get below your asking price or wait until the right person comes along. It's definely a nice car.

Just as expected.

Last time I checked tire kicking is free. Not sure about picture collecting, there maybe some copyright laws reqarding that.

He should probably relist it and say. "I need to get $22K for this car" and leave it at that.

I have had about 20 different individuals contact me about the car. Most of these people want to talk about the car and collect photo's. I also have had a number of people come by and physically inspect the car, a lot what-a-be joy riders. I have listed the car for sale in the Auto Trader as well with very little results. Still looking for the right buyer to show up...

Resale red and a four speed. He rebuilt the motor right. And priced right. If I wanted a 73 vert I would buy it, but I'm holding out for 69-72.
