Does the owner know for sure that a paint code of "SPEC" actually means primer on this car.

I have seen paint codes on C3 cars of "PRIME", which clearly indicated primer.

I am also aware of a paint code of "SPEC" on a handful of 1973 Corvettes that were painted a non-standard color (for 1973) of Black.

Around 30 black vettes were produced in 73, haven't seen what the trim tag says though, had to be special ordered since it wasn't an option for that year.
