70' 454 vette for sale.
My mothers friend who doesn't know how to use the computer all to well is trying to sell his corvette. here is some info.
-1970 molsane(spelling) blue.
-Original numbers matching vehicle.
-454 v-8 no a/c.
-4 speed transmission.
- t tops.
The car has just over 85k miles on it. it has been in a climate controlled storage for the past 5 years. I am at there house right now and i am currently listening to it run outside as we speak. sounds awesome. If i hadnt just bought a new charger i would be trying to buy this car. I just took some pictures prior to him cleaning it. Please excuse the not so good cell phone pictures. thank you for looking.

Thats what we are unsure of. I looked prices up between ebay and nadaguides and low price is about 35,000$ and high price is about $70,000. Obviously with todays economy i know were not getting $70,000 for it nor are we asking that, but not selling it for as low as $15,000. Just hoping to get some replys and if anyone is interested in it enough to start negotiating a price we'll take it from there. thank you!

NADA is not a reliable indicator for a true selling price. A few suggestions are to run prices on similiar cars on Ebay, Usedcorvettesforsale.com,vettehound and carsonline.com. Does the owner know if the carb, rear end, trannie, alternator etc.. is correct? the more original and correct the car is the better price you'll get. also condition of the paint, what needs repaired will help determine a price. also how much documentation you have.
Ebay has a completely restored similar coupe for 49k ( a little high for todays market), but completely restored. I think realisticly if it is driver quality paint and predominately correct, you should be able to get 26-30k.

OH, how I love Big Block vettes. wish I had the extra $$ to buy it & space to put it. By the pix you posted, my guess is you should be able to get $25 - $30 K. Good luck with the sale.

Just outside of albany. I looked in the car at about 4 this morning when i got to the house. I dont know if its all the stock parts or not i can takem ore detail pics of the wheel and stereo and stuff today if everyone needs me to. But it says like left lamps, right lamps and theres little buttons it looks like then theres a little silver plaque on it that says 390 hp. 500 foot lbs of torgue and then 2 other things under it, I just looked quickly. the stereo above the tape deck says corvette right on it So if its not original it was changed before he bought the car in 1980. I've been family friends with them for a long time and i have not seen the car since about 2002 because its been off the road and in storage since then. Hes owned it since 1980 and has never driven it in the rain, the winter nothing.

Stereo: The fact that it says "Corvette" on it means nothing. Numerous after-market stereos are available that say "Corvette" on them. That stereo does not look like it was made prior to 1980, but I am far from an expert there.
Price: It is hard to say what a reasonable price on that car is without some more information on condition. But speaking generally, 1970 LS5 coupe with 4 spd and no AC is about a $30K car if it is in good driver condition. If the car is rusty, I would expect it to pull much less. If it is in great condition, I wouldn't think $40K was out of line as an asking price. I think for a car like that to get $50K, it better be rolling out of a restoration shop somewhere.
Hope this helps.

I think you need to decide on an asking price pretty quick though. Forum rules state you have to list an asking price. I think Crossram just made a typo when he said "Can post it without a price.", I think he obviously meant "Can't post it without a price". The mods are obviously extending a courtesy to you by having some patience, but I wouldn't expect that to last forever.
Another comment on your price range: If the $70,000 you mention is from a certain silver 1970 coupe presently on e-bay, I'll tell you that that car has been for sale for MONTHS. That is a fact and you can take from it what you will. My opinion is that if that car checks out to be what they say it is, it probably is worth $50,000 or maybe a little more, but what they are claiming it is is worlds away from a good condition driver car.

If he wants to sell it $20,000. If he wants people bugging him for weeks about this and that, $25,000. If he wants to tell his wife he is trying to sell it and no one wants it, $30,000.
Current market reality.

Good summary. Not sure he would even get $20K if it has issues/needs. The market is quite soft.
