' Im not sure why it was even brought up to begin with. Sales interference
is prohibited. This is a for sale thread, not a NCRS tech thread. '
Don't think it was picking but rather sharing some information.
If it was my car and I did not realize this could be an issue I would appreciate the information.

I do not think that a belt pattern is going to stop anyone who is interested from buying this Vette. A PM would not make this information available to anyone else who does not realize there is a potential difference to investigate for themselves on this very minor point.
It is not like the poster said 'do not buy this car because the belts might be incorrect'.
It does not seem that the owner took offence, and I for one, appreciated the comments for me to learn a little bit.
I am pretty sure I am not the only one that benefitted from the Assembly Manual page post as well all do not own every year of this valuable resource.
This whole side discussion is more of a distraction.

Well as long as we're on the subject, according to the AIM, the belt IS routed correctly. I see two configurations with power steering and BOTH of them have the alternator routed around the P/S pump ONLY. As far as the ribs on the back of the belt go, ...it's a V-belt. Even a moron knows the "V" goes into the groove on the pulley. Some belts do indeed have ribs on the back side. I can't believe with the level on craftsmanship that went into this car the builder would botch something like alternator belt routing or even flip the belt inside out. Common sense, people.
Problem solved. That is a super nice car. Almost too pretty to drive.

Hello,
This is an exceptional looking car and restoration.
As far as I'm concerned, an excellent place for someone to put there
money into. It's one of those investments that will have a much better
return than our current 401k.
A few weeks ago I watched last summers' Meechum auction. The cars
were going for some unbelieveable amounts. A car like this would go for
so much more than your asking price. Best wishes on the sale of it.

Your belt routing recommendation would result in a long span which would throw the belt off the pulleys at high engine speeds.
