Manual C3 near southern PA
Long time Corvette fan, recently interested in getting a classic car. Wife fell in love with some C3s, so lucky me! Anyway, our only requirement is a manual trans.
Prefer coupes to convertibles
Prefer 68-72 cars for the rear end styling and removable rear window
Prefer a driver, not a garage queen. I don't want a project though.
Resto-mods or swapped cars are fine too, so long as the build is documented, reliable, and relatively tame for cruising the streets.
I don't need any special editions or rare, colors, though I do find that cool. I would rather keep costs down a bit. Numbers matching doesn't mean anything to me.
I would like to stay in the 15-25k range, but I could be talked into something better if its perfect, a good deal, and pretty local.

Melting Slicks
$25K? ... Maybe.
Don't be in a hurry. The more you research, the more you'll understand that "you get what you pay for". Your first corvette can be a wonderful experience or a disaster.
Don't be tempted to buy one that's "close" to what you're looking for. On the other hand, you may find that your parameters change.
Good luck. Hope you find "that" car.

Burning Brakes
You may want to check out www.hobbycarcorvettes.net in Martinsburg, Pa.. They're just south of Altoona. They usually have a pretty good supply of C3's.

Thank you so much to everyone who has helped out!
"Old Man in a C", does 25k really seem like not enough for a decent driver? I don't need special options, nice paint, or a clean interior. Just something fun to bomb around in and not worry about leaving in parking lots. I'm seeing plenty in the price range that seem just fine.

Big block,LT-1 any rare motor option and yes it will cost more than 25K....For a good looking no real issues 68-72 vette you can get a nice one for 25K....
I'm putting my 73 up for sale very soon....Its not matching numbers motor..Its actually better a lot better than the Crappy L-48 it came with...
Don't know if you want a 73 vert but I would put it up against any vette in my price range...
I'm advertising it for $16,000,asking...No rust many new parts, worked motor....
Keep an eye out for listing soon...

Hi afox.. If you’re still looking and wood consider a ‘78 I have my anniversary edition for sale on Long Island. I know you don’t need super clean interior or anything special. BUT this car is pretty nice! Manual, but with good old power steering, A/C, original with all the bells and whistles, t-tops, matching numbers and only 8k original miles! I have it listed for 19k, well within your price range, but feel free to contact the dealer where she’s being kept and negotiate

Use these factors to your advantage. You are in a great spot in a buyers market. Don’t overlook mechanical or body issues but you should easily buy a car you describe in the teens.
