Default 1982 Collector Edition

1982 Corvette Collector Edition for sale, 71k miles, stock. I am the second owner since 1985, purchased from an executive in Memphis, TN, at 35k miles. I moved to NJ in 1987; the car has been in central NJ since then, and not a daily driver as I used public transportation. No accidents or paintwork. Bronze T-Tops. New/very recent: tires, calipers, rotors, pads, rear shocks; new fluids; recently tuned up. TBs were adjusted/synched. Radio works, AC works, hatch works. Runs well, uses little oil between regular changes. Issues: hood decal has cracks, seat leather is thin in spots, but no rips or tears, right headlight is a little slow to pop up. Exterior/Paint and Interior are both 7.5-8 out of 10. Garaged, original car, it's in nice shape, it runs well and looks good. I'm sentimentally attached to it, but selling it as I have too many cars and need to reduce so my wife can get her garage space back, as I promised her. $12,950,

or best reasonable offer. Call/text 732-549-1193, email s4caster@gmail.com or PM me. Thanks, Jim

Well, I haven't received any responses yet, so I thought I would check on this board for some feedback. My well-known and well-respected service facility thought a car like mine could fetch $15-18k, which I thought was a strong range, which is why I priced it at $13k. It's not a real low-mileage example like the others that have recently appeared on this site for significantly more money, but it's a moderate mileage car in nice shape with recent parts, service, and tuning. If anyone has any feedback, or anybody's interested in this car, please let me know. Thanks!

I would try EBAY instead of here as there is many more serious buyers with cash on hand. I sold my last Vette there in one day. Nice car by the way!!

It's too bad they never put three pedals in those cars?. Would've been real cool........but it is one of 6759 built. Nice car-GLWS.

My experience with for sale cars is that 5 days of no responses is not significant yet.

Hey, folks, thanks for the responses. 1971_LS5_DROPTOP, I may very well give EBay a try, thanks. 68ACADIAN, this is the only automatic I've had since my '68 Camaro, which I sold in 1976! I prefer the sticks myself. vettebuyer6369, I guess I'm more used to some other enthusiast sites where there is usually more immediate response and feedback, not all of it favorable of course! And thanks for attaching the related thread, which has a couple of more details. Thanks all! This car needs to be sold, and I hope it goes to a buyer who will care for it.

Just a quick follow up... this site discourages feedback that does not advance the sale in a sales thread, as many members over the years have complained about negativity in their ads and expressed reservations about posting for that reason. You could say we are the opposite of BAT if you are familiar with them, although some sites do not allow any comments of any kind in sales threads. So, feedback is not always forthcoming in our sales areas.

Also, the Related Thread function is a site default that many people find confusing sometimes. If you find it to be an issue, PM me and I’ll walk you through shutting it off.

Best of luck on this sale by the way. I think it’s a great car for a great price. I’d look at it myself if I didn’t have a major storage issue going on.

Hi Folks - L46man, thanks for the bump...I appreciate it! And cuisinartvette, thank you too for your tip about youtube; I'll look into doing that. I've driven the car sparingly this summer, but it drives great and looks good. Who's looking for a nice CE?

good luck.

Craigslist
Autotrader
Hemmings (just checked, ONE private seller CE on Hemmings)
Timing is a bit weird insofar as winter is coming.....seems to tail off.
Auction season in AZ starts Jan 2020.
I think BAT and Ebay GUARANTEES a 'wholesale sale'.

At the risk of stepping over the negativity line, it’s a tough time of year to sell a car in the northeast. I don’t think your asking price is out of line. I agree with the suggestion of eBay if you really want to move it now. Slightly less flakes than craigslist

On the positive side, 82’s are the best cruiser of the C3s. Nothing more enjoyable than doing a fall colour tour with the tops off. Great looking car! GLWS
