Default Me vs. an M3

My friend just got a brand new M3 6 speed coupe, after he breaks it in and i get my new tires on were gunna run, maybe for a little $$.

My mods are in my sig, plus i recently installed a little bit higher stall converter. My prediction is he will beat me off the line but by the time hes in 3rd ill be pullin away.

and of course it will be on the track...

I handled a 2001-ish M3 in my LT-4.

I think they are rated at 333hp and published ETs in the 13.1 to 13.3 range. I really like the M3 and considered getting one before I bought this vette.

Have fun, but do it at the track.

[edit] I just looked at your sig. It looks like 13.54 is your best ET. I think a decent driver in an M3 would be quicker than that or REALLY close.

Remember, at the track, not everyone is good on the tree, so if you get the holeshot, you might just smoke him. If you are in an automatic, you should take him from the get go, but he might pull on you at the top end.

Best bet is to kill him on the tree. This is much easier with an automatic, than a 6 speed.

If it is a brand new 2005 or 2004 SMG M3 you will lose. Sorry.

Now go race a 95 M3 or a 90 M3 and you will feel much better!

I beat one at GLD. I treed him and got at least a car length and a half on him but he hung right there down the whole ¼ mile. I have it on video somewhere. You can actually hear someone in the crowd go "Dayum".

C4kid94, your mods aren't showing; you need to check the box "Show your signature".

You will need DRs with a high stall TC or roll into the throttle, even on a good track.

You have a copla edges, not only he has to launch the stick but also needs to power shift to keep up with your A4.

What does your '94 turn in the 1/4 mile?

Do you have any idea what the M3 is rated at?

I think just the opposite.

You should get him off the line and he will pull you by the middle of 2nd, if you are auto.

I'd like to see that video. I rode in an M3 once and I don't remember them being that impressive. I'd almost have a hard time believing that they can perform as claimed here in this thread... but one person's doubt against everyone elses facts ... I guess I will be aware of the next M3 I try to roll on.

I'll try and find it but I have to organize and find my videos first. This race was before I did the top end so the car was running 13.6 or so at the time.

The latest M3s are da bom, yo.

Fast, handle like a dream... drool... I would take one. And they have a back seat and trunk! It's the only BMW I would consider.
