How about making it mid to late 80's early 90's Vette??? I really like the boxster, seems to be very comfortable. But the maint. cost can be more then a Vette. So I would have to lean towards a 91 or newer Vette. I like the dash on the 91 and up. Also like the front and rear lights better.

based solely on your original question... I'm a fan of the crossfire injection... and I will always have a place in my heart for the TPI... but an early 80's vette can't touch a 90's boxster if all things are equal.
now compare to equivalent years... and I'd take the vette hands down. I drove an 92 Carrerra and compared to my 96 LT4 I was impressed... but not enough to look back on my purchase.

I couldn't agree more! I know Porshe makes some fine road cars and all, but in general I've always thought most German cars are pretty unexciting from an aesthetics standpoint. As has been said, life's too short to drive an ugly car...........
