Default wheel question

In the one of the stickys' it says there is a tire and wheel section but I can't find it. I'm sorry but I must be blind. I have a '95 with saw blades. I bought new tires about a year ago and now they only have about 2,000 miles on them. I am wanting to put a zr1 style wheel on it but I don't want to change tire size. Did the '96 come with a 8.5" width on the front or were they have 9.5"s all the way around? I know the GS and ZR1 had 11"s on the back and 9.5"s on the front. It seems like all the manufacturers sell that are in a package are 4 9.5" or 2 9.5" and 2 11".

To answer your tire question. Starting in '93 they went with 8.5 up front and 9.5 in the rear unless you got Z07(Z51 in '96)excepting the ZR1 of course.

If you got the Z07, you got 9.5 on all four corners with 275/40ZR17's

For base cars, you got 255/45ZR17 on the 8.5's and 285/40ZR17's on the 9.5's.

The "Tires and Wheels" section is listed under "General Corvette"

Get the four 9.5" wheels and you can keep the stock tire sizes.
ZR-1 style wheels are extremely popular...every third C4 I see has them.

If I put my 255s' on those 9.5"s wouldn't the wheel stick out to far and look odd? Thanks for all your replies.

Probably and you would really have to look out for curbs as it would be very easy to scratch them.

You could always sell your 255 tires and pick up another set of 275s.
