No because the 84 has the P/S tank and bracket above the alternator that the 85 up dont have. I just eliminated my air pump by building a H shaped bracket that goes in its place and still uses the OE belt. Others have removed the pump and used a shorter belt but you still need to support the PS tank bracket where it usually bolts to the Air Pump. If you are not in a big hurry I could duplicate mine and send you one I think it cost me about 35.00 to make.

you can gut the old pump
I have a pump on my 87 that my buddy gutted, just a bearing and pully now. No drag, but if you want to remove the unsightly thing I would find the one that uses the same size pulley, Ive heard of problems with belt alignment on small pulley replacements.
